Miss Sophie was passionate about dancing from a very young age during her time at her local dance school she competed in many competitions all over the UK. She loved performing and working hard towards her exams of which she achieved ballet, tap, modern and national to advanced levels.

At 18 Miss Sophie successfully auditioned for the Northern Ballet School in Manchester where she trained as a professional dance and also gained her teaching qualifications. Miss sophie graduated from the Northern Ballet School and went on to perform professionally as a dancer in Lanzarote and Fuerteventura in cabaret venues, she also toured the UK and Germany performing at corporate events.

Miss Sophie loved performing and being on the stage but she always knew she would become a dance teacher. She taught at various dance schools, and for organisations across the North West but it had always been her lifelong ambition to have her own dance school. This dream became a reality in 2010 when she opened Sophie Dee School of Dance, with 4 students one snowy January morning in a scout hut. Miss Sophie now has the successful dance school she always dreamed of with over 650 students coming through the doors each week and a fantastic team of 10 other amazing teachers by her side.

Based in Hazel Grove their private studios boasts fantastic facilities for training their young dancers. SDSD offers classes in ballet, tap, modern, jazz, musical theatre, acro, contemporary, commercial, body conditioning, stretch, and street dance, but it is their pre school and Junior street dance classes that they are now keen to take to another level and the reason for now offering Lil Beatz.

Miss Sophie is a fun loving mum of 2 children herself, Reuben and Rosie, she has an abundance of experience in pre school dance, she appreciates the importance of finding the perfect class for your young child, where they learn, grow, thrive and make new friends, in a safe environment surrounded by loving, experienced, encouraging teachers. The addition of Lil Beatz to SDSD’s already thriving pre school programme is extremely exciting.

Once your little dancer completes the Top Rocker programme they can feed straight into our main school and either continue enjoying street dance as a hobby or step it up and join one of our competition crews. We strive to provide as many opportunities and experiences for our students as possible.
